At one time or the other, we’ve all had crazy imaginations of our future homes. As kids, we dreamed of living in a castle with a waterslide attached to the side. However, we often forget about these imaginary designs when the time comes to design our houses because they are mostly unrealistic. Some people though, can’t give up on their ‘one-of-a-kind fantasies.’ Ever seen a toilet house? You will now. Here are the weirdest houses from around the world.
Lego House
This house is located in Surrey, United Kingdom. Created by James May, a lover of Lego houses, this Lego house was built with more than 3,300,000 Lego toy bricks. Volunteers helped in building it, since it would be a big project for one person.
The Lego house is a two-story building with a working toilet, staircase, a hot shower, and a bed. The brain behind the Lego house has disclosed that he would like to build a life-sized Lego ship. We have faith he can make it happen!
The Cloud House
This unique house is located in Melbourne, Australia. Built by McBride Charles Ryan, the cloud house is a sort of extension of an old Edwardian home. The aim is to add a modern touch to the old house.
Guests walk through the Edwardian interior and enter into the modern extension. The cloud house features a red kitchen with lots of carved wood. We can’t say it’s our dream home, but McBride must be on Cloud 9.
The Steel House
The steel house is located in Lubbock, Texas, and the brain behind the design is the architectural sculptor Robert Bruno. So, how long did it take to make such a wonderful steel house?
It took 23 years to build this weird house out of 110 tonnes of steel. The steel house features many stories, unique views, and, of course, crazy heat! Why go through all that stress just to make something like this ugly piece of tin?
Upside-down House
Located in Szymbark, Poland, this upside-down house is exactly what it sounds like. We don’t think this list of weird houses can be complete without this house. The house was designed to mark the end of communism in Poland.
This house took five times longer to build than a regular house. What we find interesting is that guests often feel like they’re tripping on drugs when they enter the house and walk around on its ceilings.
Toilet-Shaped House
Also called Haewoojae, this house is located in Suwon, South Korea. Born in his grandmother’s bathroom, Sim Jae Duck dedicated his life to sanitation and water conservation. This man rebuilt his house in the shape of a toilet!
Featuring three toilets and two stories, this house is the only one of its kind in the world. After he died in 2009, the house was made the Toilet Theme Park, a kind of museum. Isn’t it just fitting that he was the chairman of the World Toilet Association when he was alive?
