You Don’t Want The Chills? These Funny Halloween Movies Are The Right Dose Of Spooky and Hilarious

While many enjoy the horror factor in most Halloween movies, others don’t find it thrilling or enjoyable in the slightest. But since bloody and gory movies take the stage on Halloween, or rather the entire month of October, finding a Halloween-themed movie without the scary factor isn’t so easy. That’s why we’ve compiled five funny movies that put you in the Halloween mood without giving you nightmares.

Young Frankenstein

You may have heard someone jokingly refer to one of the famous scenes from this movie. It’s a funny movie that features a monster, but not in a way that’ll leave you looking over your shoulder in fear.

It is a comedy that follows the story of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, a medical lecturer, who discovered that he had inherited an estate in Transylvania. From his creation of a monster to his attempts at proving his grandfather right, this movie will crack you up.

A Haunted House (1&2)

If there is such a thing as a combination of spooky and hilarious, this movie is it. It’s one of those films that leaves you laughing about a paranormal scene that you would’ve found scary on a regular day.

It follows the story of Malcolm, who discovered that his lover, Kisha, had been possessed by a spirit. The failure he encounters as he seeks help from different people, from a psychic to a priest, is hilarious.

Hocus Pocus

If you’ve seen this movie, you’re probably smiling, thinking about the funny memories you have of the charismatic characters. Hocus Pocus gives you a traditional Halloween vibe that doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable. It’s a cult classic and even loved by kids.

It is a story of three witches who are searching for eternal youth on Halloween. A young trick-or-treater, Thora Birch, fell into their trap, and things got more interesting when her brother tries to save her. From the title, you already know it’s a magical movie.

Death Becomes Her

There, there, don’t be scared. The movie isn’t as gory as the title implies. Of course, there is a touch (okay, a bit more than a touch) of paranormal stuff in the movie, but it’s not enough to give you the chills.

The dark comedy is about two frenemies who wanted eternal beauty and youth, so they became immortal. Aside from the magic side, the movie also has a funny love story. It’s a must-watch, trust us!

Edward Scissorhands

This movie is perfect for lovers of the Halloween vibe but don’t want the scary part. It gives you a feel of Halloween but doesn’t give you any reason to be scared and hide under the covers. Winona Ryder being in it also makes it a must-watch.

In the movie, Edward’s creator died before he (Edward) was complete. You can think of it as a fairy tale with some gothic accent but a happy ending– but it’s still Halloween-y.
