These Hilarious Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Fails Make Us Laugh and Cringe

Thanksgiving Day is for getting together with your family and also stuffing your face with turkey. It’s also a time to enjoy the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. While this famous parade features extravagant floats and iconic performances, it has also given us many hilariously memorable moments. Since its start in the 1920s, there have been many unforgettable fails. Here are the funniest Macy’s Thanksgiving Day fails to be thankful for this year.

Saving our fave character in a scary way

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade always entertains guests with famous characters; it’s not all about the music performances. However, in 1997, this fictional character experienced an accident.

A streetlight yanked the Barney Balloon, cutting it open, and the police rushed over to the scene. In a bid to save the individual in the balloon, they began stabbing the balloon with knives. Some kids would have cried in fear for their lovely Barney.

Yeah, excitement can be that overwhelming

Who doesn’t love rock bands? It’s completely normal for the crowd to break into loud cheers when a rock band comes on stage. In 2014, American Authors, a rock band, got carried away by the audience’s excitement.

They kept waving to the crowd without noticing that their song was already being played in the background. They missed the starting cue, and the lead singer tried to mouth the words about halfway through. Sounds like a kid choir to us.

The priceless awkward look

Most of the funniest Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade moments revolve around performances. In 2018, Laura Benanti’s performance of My Fair Lady ‘Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?’ was something else.

It was a regular, wonderful performance until she got to the part where she sang, ‘Lots of chocolate for me to eat.. ‘. Then she shoved a piece of chocolate into the mouth of a young man from the audience. His awkward look was simply hilarious.

Unsupportive floats and technical difficulties

We’ve all experienced or watched a musical rendition when the singer had horrible lip-sync fails. You’ll agree that, regardless of the cause, those lip-sync problems are always hilarious. Well, it happened in 2018.

Rita Ora and John Legend had awful lip-sync fails on floats while performing- and the story went viral. The pop singers explained on Twitter that the floats didn’t have the ability to support live performances; Macy’s also called it technical difficulties.

When papers were let loose

Speaking of ‘circumstances beyond human control’ that wreak havoc and unleash some hidden things, the event of the 2012 parade was a typical example. Shredded papers from a Police Department were found in the parade confetti.

These papers contained the real identities of undercover agents, employee social security numbers, and bank information. While Macy said they never used shredded paper but purchased confetti, no one knows where the confidential papers came from.
