From Ridiculously Large Ties To Dresses On Jeans, These 2000s Fashion Trends Were Unbelievable

Fashion trends come and go; each decade brings different styles, some of which find their way into the following decades. However, while some trends remain iconic, others are so unrealistic that we can’t imagine returning to them. In the 2000s, some hilarious trends were seen as dope. This article is dedicated to those hideous and iconic trends.

Ridiculously laced-up clothes

You’re probably wondering what’s so hilarious or weird about lacing up clothes. In the 2000s, the position of laces was impractical and ridiculous. People wore jeans that had to be laced up at the front, instead of the zipper.

The shirts were laced up too. The lace served as the button. Some long and short skirts had to be laced by the sides.

The ultimate badass fashion accessory

Can you guess what this accessory was? While guys and ladies wore necklaces and earrings in the 2000s, it wasn’t the fashion accessory that stood out back then. It was something in your first aid kit.

Bandages weren’t only used as wound dressings in the 2000s. It was a fashion accessory. By sticking a bandage to your cheek, you were a stylish badass back then. We can’t help but ask what brought about such a fashion trend.

Extremely large suits and spacesuits

Generally, we often associate baggy clothes with the older eras. We’ve returned to this baggy trend because of how cool they are. In the case of these 2000s large suits, there is no going back to them- it would be a fashion disaster.

Why would anyone wear suit jackets that are longer than mid-length dresses- you could step on the trousers. Okay, what about those spacesuits? Aside from being extremely large, the 2000s spacesuits were shiny- the only way we’re wearing those is as costumes.

Ties that could pass for scarves and scarves that are just too long

Considering the size of the ties and scarves of the 2000s, we wonder if there was some mix-up of their functions. The scarves were so long that they became non-aesthetic. They looked like they were around your neck as a towing tool.

The ties are one of the most ridiculous trends of the decade. How many scarves were that wide? Just a few. With these extra-large ties, you wouldn’t need to go out with a handkerchief or even travel with a towel- just wear a darker color.

Forget those distressed jeans; this combination is an insult to jeans!

Although the ideal length of short dresses has changed through different decades, everything was wrong about this decade’s acceptable dress length. Apparently, in the 2000s, jeans weren’t only to be worn under shirts; they went with dresses too. The length was the real problem.

Women commonly wore jeans under knee-length dresses. It won’t be wrong to say that jeans doubled as leggings and pop socks in the 2000s. Again, this is a trend that can never find its way back into our lives.
