Reddit’s ‘Showerthoughts’: Funny, Random, And Relatable Thoughts People Are Sharing Online

The internet is flooded with people’s ideas– insightful or meaningless– shared by people from all walks of life. On Reddit, there is a community devoted to those random epiphanies that many can relate to. From the name ‘showerthoughts’, you already know it’s about people’s random thoughts in the shower. Here are some of the peculiar thoughts people shared on the Reddit community.

Of course, it’s not all about the potential

We commonly say, “Talent cannot be hidden,” or “A star will always shine.” Although these are true and inspiring statements and beliefs, they are not always true. This Redditor says that a star might not shine due to unfavorable circumstances.

We think this Redditor is right on track; many stars are as talented (if not more) as those famed ones we celebrate but are hidden because they are in the wrong place. Imagine Messi as a stockbroker or Bill Gates as a citizen of a third-world country; now you get the picture!

Yeah…now that’s scary!

We’ll forever love those sayings, jokes, and dark humor quotes with lines that we totally didn’t expect. Well, that’s the case in this Reddit post. Whoever posted this deserves an accolade.

While you may be tempted to argue that being alone in the dark is what scares you after a horror movie, the second line is where you get the (scary) truth. You never know who lingers in the dark.

You can’t blame them, it hits harder

This post couldn’t be more valid. This Redditor is talking about something so sensitive and real; however, it makes us laugh about it.

This post reminded us that poverty has a louder voice than wealth; there are always several things that make you know your parents are struggling, even as a kid. So, after the laughs, what category will your kids fall under?

Uhmm, we wouldn’t want that either

There are many things we do that make us cringe at the thought of someone watching us. So that’s what makes this particular post relatable– we can all see why that is.

This Redditor just referred to everyone; we mean the ‘most people’ implies all of us, including whoever posted it, if we’re being honest. Dude, would you want anyone watching those three months of you foolishly adoring your egoistic high school crush?

Well, it’s good someone raised it

Movies are not reality; they are only an attempt at depicting it. We know that, and we’re not disputing it. But sometimes, movies drift so far from tiny, real-life details that we wonder if it was just an oversight.

This Redditor’s thought is one that has crossed many people’s minds. We’re sure of that. The main characters just walk through sewers like it’s a regular walkway. At least they should scrunch up their faces or make a complaint– isn’t that part of acting?
