Crimes Against Shoe-manity! These Shoes Are The Ugliest In History

While we agree that the term ‘ugly’ is subjective, some footwear is not worth wearing. Looking at these shoes, you can’t keep a straight face – you’ll either frown in confusion about the craftsmanship or downright laugh. Some of these shoes are too practical to be aesthetic, while others are simply not functional. We’ll show you five of the weirdest and ugliest shoes ever.

Just call them the ugly ol’ shoes

You probably thought these were kids’ shoes, however these were made for young women. Lotus-Shoes were designed in the Chinese Song Dynasty from 960 till around 1279 AD. How did they fit?

Ancient Chinese girls broke their toes and bound them under their soles to make them look ‘sexy’ and marriageable; this practice of limiting their foot growth was called foot binding. With the ideal size being 3 inches, you’ll agree that they embody ‘ridiculous.’

These shoes are made backward

Marc Jacobs held a reverse fashion show in 2008 – it went from the finale to the first look. You might think this is a peculiar innovation, but seeing the shoes he made in conjunction with the show would make you change your mind.

Called the Marc Jacobs Pumps, these cantilevered trompe l’oeil shoes are anything but aesthetic. We can’t help but wonder how anyone would look walking in these shoes. Why would anyone even wear them? This is a fashion accident waiting to happen.

Hybrid styling went wrong

These shoes prove that two wrongs can’t make right. Designed in 2012, the Aussie Soles SnUggs is a hilarious shoe. Combining an Ugg and a Croc, the hybrid shoe is all shades of ugly – from color combination to material.

Imagine sticking your feet into the shoes and feeling the lush sheepskin lining, and then you’re feeling the waterproof polymer texture. The footwear is neither practical nor aesthetic, making us want to know what the designer had in mind when they made it.

You can’t tell us this wasn’t made my mistake

2012 was a year of horrible shoes. The Acne Dandelion Open-Back High Heel Booties look like what you’d wear to a wild costume party after making a bet about who would wear the most unimaginable. Ugly is too narrow to describe these shoes.

It looks like a creative fashion student morphed the creation from his dad’s and mom’s shoes. The sole is from Daddy’s brogue; the upper part seems like the child cut off the back of Mom’s flats. These Acne shoes look like the designer is still deliberating.

If not a spatula, what else comes to mind?

Although they’ve existed in the men’s shoe section for decades, squared-toed shoes became very popular in the 2010s. These Zota square-toe shoes are impractical and non-aesthetic; you must agree. Why would any man buy these?

Even though men’s shoes aren’t always the most aesthetic compared to female footwear, these take the hat for the ugliest. Spatula look-alikes like these should be in museums for people to marvel at; they have no place in anyone’s closet.
